Why Christians Should Participate in the National Day of Prayer
Each year, millions of believers across the United States set aside time to pray for our nation on the National Day of Prayer. But why is this day so important for Christians? Here are three compelling reasons to get involved:

Scripture clearly calls believers to be people of prayer.
In 1 Thessalonians 5:17, we’re told to “pray without ceasing.” And 1 Timothy 2:1–2 urges us to lift up “supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings… for kings and all who are in high positions.”
